Our summer concert went very well on 9th July 2016. We sang a range of our favourite songs – folk, jazz, Beatles, Caribbean, pop and musicals. Our youngest member, Holly, sang her solo beautifully and Darryll Prew, our pianist, did a brilliant job. We raised £60 for Compton Hospice and £40 for the Air Ambulance.
We had a good night out at the curry house in Brewood in August 2015 – a great summer get-together before starting back at choir in the September.
Our night out at Birmingham Hippodrome to see Oklahoma went very well, and most of the songs were familiar to us as we had been practising them the previous term – songs such as I’m Just a Girl Who Can’t Say No and People Will Say We’re In Love were among those that our members joined in with.
The choir were invited to sing at Linden House in Wolverhampton by the Friends of the Eye Infirmary. We had an enjoyable time and were given good feedback from the audience.
The choir has been asked to sing at a wedding in December at Pendrell Hall where we will be helping to welcome guests with a range of our Christmas songs.
