It is good to get back to singing again after the covid pandemic and we are working hard on our Christmas music, ready for this year’s Christmas concerts.
Before the pandemic Christmas concerts were great fun. For the third Christmas, we took a coach up to Newport, where we joined the Newport Male Voices for their Christmas Concert in the beautiful St Nicholas’ Church. A really enjoyable event, where we take it in turns to sing and then enjoy home-made Christmas cake and wine in the interval.
We all enjoyed our own concert – ‘Carols by Candlelight’, at the beginning of December, with mulled wine and mince pies in the interval. At this concert we raised money for Compton Hospice and Midlands Air Ambulance.
We also went carol singing for local groups – Busy Minds at Bilbrook Fire Station, Codsall Village Hall Christmas Fayre and the Council Offices.
We had a lovely evening at our ‘Strawberries and Champagne’ concert in June, at The Forget-Me-Not Club. We had a beautiful solo from our young soloist, Holly, and enjoyed singing folk songs along with Darryll Prew, our talented pianist and folk singer.
It’s good to see that most of our singers have come back after the pandemic and that, once again, we have a thriving choir.
